Exquisite luxurious rooms to make your stay one to remember ....
Reviews
Dear Terry,
Well, we arrived back home safely to Galway after our "trip of a lifetime" to Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand (for five weeks!!) Fiji, Las Vegas and New York. I especially want to thank you for your kindness to Agnes and myself while we were in New Plymouth - for the game between Ireland and USA. We had such a lovely time in the Nice Hotel - we will always remember you with great affection. Hope Sparky is well.
Since we arrived home last Friday the weather has been very wet and cold. But the memories of the wonderful time we had in New Zealand, and especially in the Nice Hotel in New Plymouth, are helping to put all that away.
If you come to the West of Ireland, and to Galway, please come to visit us. You will be welcome to stay here and we can show you Connemara - it is beautiful, at any time of the year!!
With best wishes
BERNARD and AGNES O FARRELL

"The street level bistro is open and friendly with an attractive deck for summer nights and a small garden with fish pond down below. Good food, relaxed atmosphere and super friendly service mean Nice Bistro lives up to its name ..."
North and South magazine - June 2002
"Once again, the 140 year-old former Redcoats hospital... has been reincarnated, this time emerging as a wonderfully offbeat boutique hotel and bistro. Part of the pleasure in staying comes from being swathed in sumptuous titbits, part is in meeting the gregarious proprietors. An evening meal in their adjoining Nice Bistro often develops into a kind of private party."
Urbis magazine - 2000/2001
"Using interesting art (a few by Don Driver), lots of cream paint, blonde wood and splashes of vibrant colour, Terry Parkes had returned the changing face of the 1860 building to its hotel origins. Touches of Kitsch, Kiwiana and Victorian add to the overall opulence. The food is groomed with care and artistic flair and the menu changes twice each season to make the most of fresh produce, but some staples will stay. The two-in-a-bowl soup is always there, but its flavours change with the weather."
